About Healthy Life Massage

Experience, attention & a personal approach.

Two licensed therapists, one private studio in Livonia, and a simple belief: massage isn't only for the days when something already hurts.

Why “Healthy Life”

Part of maintaining yourself, along the way.

The name says how we see massage. It isn't only for after something starts to hurt. It's part of staying physically and mentally ready for everything your life asks of you.

If you're active, busy, at a desk for hours, on stage, in training, or simply ready to take better care of yourself, we're here for you.

Our approach

There isn't one way to work on every body.

Listening beyond the obvious

Clients often come in with one particular area in mind. When we focus there, other sources of tension sometimes show up, places they hadn't even realized were affecting them. Noticing that is part of paying attention.

Adjusted as we go

We listen to what you tell us and to how your muscles respond. Pressure, rhythm, timing and technique change with what your body is saying, rather than following the same routine every time.

Professional, never impersonal

Over the years, clients have compared their sessions with us to therapists in their home countries and to expensive spas, resorts and cruises. We don't think we're doing anything extraordinary. We focus on the fundamentals, and on making sure you feel comfortable being yourself.

Vernon Barrymore

I've spent more than 15 years working with people and learning how different bodies respond to massage. Over that time, one thing has become clear to me: there isn't one way to work on every body.

I listen to what you tell me, and I pay attention to how your muscles respond while we work. Clients often come in about one spot and find tension somewhere else they hadn't noticed. For me, that's part of paying attention.

I'm focused on doing the fundamentals well: the right pressure, a steady rhythm, and giving the person on the table the attention they deserve. Most importantly, I want you to feel comfortable being yourself.

“I chose the name Healthy Life Massage because it reflects how I see massage: as part of taking care of yourself along the way.”

Kwame Turner

I've been a massage therapist for 14 years, and my sessions center on your physical well-being.

I like the work to feel collaborative. You tell me what you're noticing, I tell you what I'm finding, and we decide together where the time goes.

Our mission

Take care of yourself before you have to.

Massage as part of a healthy life

Your body and mind carry everything you do. Mental exhaustion and physical pain can limit how you function, so we offer a chance to step away, take care of yourself and return with greater ease.

Quality over routine

Every body is different. Small differences in pressure, rhythm, technique and attention change the way a massage feels. That attention to detail is the heart of what we do.

Supporting people at work

On-site chair massage gives employees a meaningful break, and gives employers one more way to show the people who keep things running that they're valued.

Looking ahead

We're growing from an individual practice into a local massage and wellness business with a team of skilled therapists, serving businesses, athletes, performers and anyone whose body is asked to do a lot.

Whether you visit the studio, meet us at work or find us at an event, the goal stays the same.
